About Diandra
Diandra is currently working towards a Bachelor’s of Engineering Degree for Civil Engineering. Although she is currently a fourth year, due to working every other semester as part of the Cooperative Education Program, she is expected to graduate in 2017. She chose to attend Stevens Institute of Technology because being close to her family is something that is extremely important to her. When not at school, she lives in Bloomfield, NJ with her mother and seven year old sister. Growing up, she was always immersed in her Puerto Rican roots. She spent most of her childhood with her mother and grandparents. When not busy working or doing schoolwork, she spends time with her family and friends, or reading. She is currently the Treasurer of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and has been treasurer for the Latin American Association as well as the Ethnic Student Council in the past. She is also a part of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, Women’s Programs, Stevens Technical Enrichment Program, and the Archery Club. Diandra is also involved in the creation of Stevens Shattering the Silence, which is a club whose goal is to make people aware of the importance of taboo topics such as sexual assault, and abuse.

She has worked at Jacobs Engineering, Railroad Construction Company, and Adams Rehmann and Haggan Associates Incorporated.

Mike Salas - Academic Chair
About Mike
My name is Mike Salas, and I am in my 2nd year majoring in Biomedical Engineering at Stevens. I’m originally from Newark, NJ and went to Science Park High School. On campus, I’ve been involved in STEP, LEADS Emerging Leaders, SHPE, SFA, BMES, the Stevens Student Ambassadors Program, and LAA. I’m also into making my own “adventures” on foot, whether that be hiking up north of Hoboken to the GW Bridge (and back), or crossing down south into Jersey City and making my way towards Bayonne! And why not? I say that Stevens is more than just going to see Hoboken or the heavily-toured New York City! Most of all, I am NOT a typical college student – just an old Ecuadorian soul, with a strong sense of adventure, awareness, and maturity inside of him, who’s on the hike of his life to do what he has to do to find his place in this world, wherever it might be!
