What is Safe Zone?
The Stevens Safe Zone Ally Program is a campus wide initiative designed to visibly identify staff and faculty members who support the LGBTQ population, understand some of the issues facing LGBTQ individuals, and are aware of the various LGBTQ resources that are readily available on the Stevens campus, the New Jersey & New York areas, and across the nation. Before becoming Safe Zone certified, members of Stevens faculty and staff must attend a mandatory three hour training session to provide a foundation of knowledge needed to be an effective ally to LGBTQ students and those questioning their sexuality.
For faculty and staff members wishing to be a part of the Safe Zone program, campus wide trainings are offered multiple times every semester. Individuals (staff and faculty) that wish to attend a Safe Zone training may register by completing the 'Training Registration' form that is conveniently located within the 'Forms' tab.
